Welcome To "Her Thriving In Ministry"

A ministerial resource for women clergy crafted by Sanctuary For Her Soul and supported by Develop Leaders of the ECC, thanks to generous grant from the Lilly Foundation.

About The "Her Thriving In Ministry" Initiative

The “Her Thriving In Ministry” initiative supports senior women clergy who are in various settings of ministry and leading women minsters who are in the marketplace. Our intention is to be a curative space built on biblical wisdom while engaging Native American healing practices for mind-body restoration, fostering connection, gaining wisdom for challenges, and equipping. All efforts of this cohort are toward an ethic of ministerial sustainability to support those who desire to lead well and care well for those whom they serve. However, before leading well and caring well for others, she desires to do this for herself first, truly embodying the scripture of “loving your neighbor as yourself.” – Mark 12:31

Our Format / Our Focus

The "Her Thriving In Ministry" will meet as a cohort monthly for nine (9) consecutive months from September 2024 until May of 2025. Our held collective space will serve as a nurturing sanctuary where upper level clergy can cultivate personal resilience, deepen spiritual practices, experience mind-body restoration and amplify their impact in ministry through personal self-care.

The cohort will cultivate your inner sanctuary

and empower you by offering:

Mind-Body Restoration Practices: By incorporating Indigenous healing practices, this cohort’s goal intends to nurture pastors in the area of mind-body restoration. This holistic approach of using Indigenous healing practices such as talking circles, breathwork, aroma therapy, meditative prayers, etc. supports pastors with alleviating emotional fatigue and general tiredness to support their ability to thrive in ministry.

Connection Fostering: Within our cohort, pastors discover a nurturing community where connections are forged, experiences shared, and wisdom exchanged. This sense of belonging creates a supportive environment where she doesn’t feel alone in ministry.

Wisdom for Challenges Exploration: Engaging in curated sessions rooted in biblical wisdom, pastors are able to gain practical wisdom from new lenses to deal with the specified nuances of ministry and their personal journeys. By discussing and hearing scripture communally it allows for one to be newly invigorated by the text.

Ministerial Sustainability Equipping: Our cohort is committed to nurturing an ethos of ministerial sustainability, by emphasizing self-care, personal development, and continual learning and listening. By prioritizing self-care, pastors are empowered to lead more effectively, care for those whom they serve and sustain a fulfilling ministry for the days ahead.
